During 1970ís the Society became concerned with setting up a Pharmacy School at the University Medical School. Professor Fraser Ross, who had been the first superintendent of Mpilo Hospital and later Dean of the Medical Faculty also served with Mr. Rollason on the Medical Council and both were jointly responsible for setting up Pharmacy within the Medical School rather than in the Dept. of Chemistry as had been proposed. The Rose Krickler laboratory came from the estate of the lady. She and her family had been close friend of Fraser and so made the donation to establish the Lab. The first Professor to the School was Mike Richards, a missionary from the United Kingdom (UK), followed by Rob Summers Rick Froese a former USA senior lecturer. It was Rob who was first to go to the International Federation for Pharmacists (FIP) conference in 1981. In 1982 the Society became a full member of FIP.
